REVIEW: C.L. Knight's Dirty Little Rich Girl

Ironically, I tend to read C.L. Knight’s fiction in the morning—night in the morning, if you will.  That, for me, is a mistake, simply because Ms. Knight gets deep inside my head, with images and imaginings I can’t shake.  Don’t get me wrong—it’s a very pleasant mistake.
Mid-summer is a time for sleeping in a tee shirt, if anything at all, and I rose this morning intending to read the paper, as I often do.  I strolled down to the curb, remembering to bend at the knees to pick up the paper.  The neighbor’s teenager, recently out of high school, doesn’t seem to have much to do in the morning but watch out his window for me, so I have to bend at the knees.  Now when his father is outside, it’s a different story…but I digress.
I checked the paper for our Olympic medal progress as I sat on the back deck with my coffee, but then suddenly remembered I had C.L. Knight’s sequel, Dirty Little Rich Girl, to read.  I placed my coffee mug on top of the paper and went inside to grab my iPad in order to peruse her newest eBook short story.
Oh, my, Ms. Knight’s female protagonist, Tiffany, is literally a dirty little rich girl.  Deliciously so!  And still quite naughty, too!  At the end of the first installment, Tiffany seemed totally into Zach, her husband’s limo driver.  As this installment opens, immediately following the previous one time-wise, Tiffany doesn’t seem to have any interest in Zach.  Tiffany treats Zach as nothing more than the hired help.  One cold cucumber.
Needless to say, since Zach is very into Tiffany, this leads to mucho frustration on Zach’s part.  The poor baby!  Doesn’t he know the games women play?
And this is the area where C.L. Knight successfully gets into my head.  Like many, I’ve played hard to get.  It’s a fun part of the chase.  Okay, perhaps not as fun for the guy, but he’ll get his in the end (hee hee).
C.L. Knight’s tale of cat and mouse rings a true chord in my psyche.  I’ve definitely been a total bitch to my beau all day, only to start the night laying face down on the bed, naked, and casting a look over my shoulder that says, “Now take it out on my ass.”  Whether this is penance for me, or a reward for him, who can say?  But we both come out ahead in the end.  Yowza-yum!
Zach dominates Tiffany in a satisfying (and memory evoking) way.  I want more!  I totally want to be dominated by shaggy haired Zach, and if I were in Tiffany’s heels, I would do exactly as she does, and provoke him into giving me what I need.
C.L. Knight’s Dirty Little Rich Girl is an amuse bouche of titillation well worth the time spent reading.  I, for one, would love to read a longer work by Ms. Knight.  But perhaps I should save that for bedtime reading!

REVIEW: Her Panties In His Mouth by Livia Combs

I absolutely adore the protagonist of Livia Combs' erotic short story, Her Panties In His Mouth!  From the get-go, this reader identified with Felicia, the protagonist.  Who hasn’t preened in front of a mirror and let their mind wander over the effect one’s carefully chosen date-wear will have on one’s date?  Yum, yum, yum.  The joy in anticipation of a hot date is second only to the joy of a truly hot date itself!

Felicia is game and adventurous, and unreservedly in love with Blake.  And she is devoted—totally devoted.  Ms. Combs’ erotic short story opens with Felicia drinking in her wardrobe transformation from businessperson to vixen—delightful.  While Felicia reviews her attire in the mirror, we don’t get any sense of vanity or ego, but instead we gain valuable insights to what makes Felicia tick, what she enjoys, her life’s creed, and how much she loves Blake.  Felicia shivers with anticipation, and the scene brought me back to my own “mirror moments” where anticipation had made me shiver, and I shivered along with Felicia.

Felicia has a lot of qualities to admire, and chief among them is her refusal to be a shrinking violet or a victim.  This woman knows how to seize the bull by the horns.  No reader will fail to admire Felicia by the end of the story.  We know from the first paragraph that Felicia is a cauldron of erotic embers, and when the right ill wind kindles the flames, Felicia is transformed into a bonfire of eroticism.

Felicia’s transformation from sex-kitten to Sexual Fury is credible and engaging.  In the process, we gain a little insight into Blake’s mind, too—just the right amount to keep the story human and enticing.

So few erotica stories are about birth, almost none, in fact.  However, Livia Combs’ erotic short story, Her Panties In His Mouth, is concerned entirely with a birth—the birth of a new stage of a relationship.  So many of these types of BDSM stories involve preparations, both material and mental, that it is refreshing to ride along with Felicia as she improvises on the fly.  And what a devious improviser she is!

I highly recommend the erotic short story by Livia Combs, Her Panties In His Mouth.  To see it on Amazon, click here.

FREE eBooks! Erotica eBooks for free! Why? Read on…

Yes, I give away free eBook erotica.  Free porn, free smut—a rose by any other name...  Click here to get your free eBook erotica from me for the Nook.  OR, click here to get your free eBook erotica from me at Smashwords.

WHY GIVE THEM AWAY?
A writer wants to be read, above all else.  When eBooks are free, more people read them.  The more people who read my books, the better I feel.  So, I give free eBook erotica away because I’m selfish and like feeling good.
An un-established writer wants her name to be more widely known.  Why should readers take a blind risk on you?  Would you?  Well, that’s complicated.  I certainly purchase the works of many authors I haven’t read before, but only after perusing the cover, the blurb, and having a peek inside.  However, I am far more willing to take a risk with an author who is new to me when the first eBook is free.
A reader who enjoys the free read is far more likely to purchase an author’s other eBooks.
Free eBooks help build an author’s audience and consumer awareness.  Ever try to meet someone at an airport or a crowded party?  How do you stand out from the mass of bodies?  You raise your hand and call out “Yoo-Hoo!”  That’s what your free eBook erotica is, a Yoo-Hoo directed at book readers and book buyers.
   Another reason: good karma.

BUT WON’T I CANNIBALIZE MY SALES?
Actually, no.  First off, if you never plan to put a price on that particular eBook, then you have nothing to cannibalize.  But why throw away potential sales?  It’s been my experience that books once offered for free will continue to sell well after a price is put on them.  Yep, it’s true.  How’s that, you ask?
Truth be told, many who take advantage of your free offer will never pay for a book.  Therefore, their downloads don’t cost you sales.  HOWEVER, some of them might be converted from freebie-jeebies to paying, loyal customers—bonus!  Even if they don’t become born-again eBook buyers, their free downloads will lift your rankings with the major booksellers, and that is always good for sales.  I won’t pretend to know the booksellers’ ranking algorithms, but I’ve observed them in action, and that’s what happens.  The freebie-jeebies help raise your “hand” and give a virtual Yoo-Hoo to those who will pay for your eBook once you put a price on it.

SHOULD I GIVE MY FIRST EBOOK AWAY?
Probably not.  As Mark Coker, founder of Smashwords, advises in his free eBooks on marketing, this strategy works best when you have somewhat of a backlist.  This way, your satisfied readers can jump right back to your author’s page and check out your other works.  It doesn’t do much good if the next book doesn’t come out for another month.  The marketplace has a short memory for those who aren’t eBook gorillas yet.
That said, I did offer my first eBook for free for a period, and after I subsequently put a price on it, that eBook has remained my biggest money seller.  So, it didn’t hurt me too badly, but I can’t help but think that I squandered a major opportunity by not having a backlist available.  Oh well, live and learn!  No use crying over spilt downloads.  Benefit from my mistake!
“But I want to get my first eBook out there!”  An understandable sentiment.  You’ve worked very hard, and you are eager to get the positive feedback of readers enjoying your handiwork.   However, it is important to keep in mind that when one chooses to self-publish, one has foregone the counsel and assistance of a publisher, and that means that one has to wear the publisher hat in steering their handiworks to the marketplace.  The publisher would tell you that you need a backlist.
This next bit of advice has come from many quarters, and that’s because it is valuable and true—the best course of action after completing your first book is to start working on the second.  Patience is key.  And patience is sometimes the most difficult coin to mint.

WHAT THE HECK DO YOU KNOW, CHASTITY?
Truth be told, not a whole heck of a lot, but what I do know, I share.  Feel free to email me at ChastityFoelds@gmail.com to discuss this further, or leave a comment below and start a dialog.

Ta-ta and Mwah!
Chastity.

REVIEW: Victoria Dunne’s Sharing Pleasures Book 1

Envy the empty-nesters, whose children are grown and out of the house.  They’ve done their job, raised the kids, and can now engage in more indulgent behavior.  Particularly envy the empty-nesters who had their children early, and still have a measure of youthful vigor and vitality.
Alex and Diane are exactly that type of most enviable empty-nesters.   Before the start of this spicy read, Diane was aghast at the prospect of no longer having a bikini-ready bod.  Not one to camp on the couch, sulking while chowing down on bon-bons and Ben & Jerry’s, Diane has seized control of her life and brought her body back to and beyond bikini-ready fitness.  Now, Diane is turning heads wherever she prances.  The dividends of her hard work have inspired her husband, and the two born-again hardbodies have new leases on life!  And honey, do they exploit those leases!
What a pleasure it is to read a sexy story featuring two middle-aged lovers who know what they want and know how to get it.  Alex and Diane show it’s never too late to grow and evolve, both physically and sexually.
The coital come-ons and sexy dialogue in chapter two had this reader's heart racing, and the payoff by the end of this ebook left me eager to explore Alex and Diane’s future adventures.  Ms. Dunne has laid the groundwork for a compelling series of reads, and the hints of future exploits, dropped hither and yon by this Joannie Appleseed of erotic promise, get one’s juices flowing in the best of ways.  Vava-voom!  Get me to the Richmond!

REVIEW: M.F. Sinclair's The Dom of My Dreams

Marjorie Fordham has the life she desires: an engaging career with a small publishing house, close friendships, and sex-buddies on call.  What more could a young woman ask for?
Happiness, true intimacy, and emotional fulfillment come to mind.
Enter David J. Seton, fabulously successful and critically lauded author.  Ms. Fordham’s publishing house needs to sign him, and he has specifically asked for Ms. Forham to be his in-house editor.  Catalysts and cataclysms ensue.
Not everything is as it seems in M.F. Sinclair’s The Dom of My Dreams, and therein lies the joy ensconced in this gem.  Although published over six months ago, it is new to me, and I relished the experience of reading it for the first time.
Unbelievably priced at 99 cents, this genre-crossing powerhouse is a remarkably good deal.  M.F. Sinclair breathes life into the characters, and the story comes alive and engrosses the reader from the get-go.
Ms. Fordham graduated college with a 4.0, but, with great verisimilitude, she is not self-aware.  Such is her charm and her undoing.  The journey of her awakening is the soul of this transcendent tome.  Titillation abounds, which is always pleasant, but the true satisfaction of this book is not the sexual unfolding of Ms. Fordham, but the emotional one.  M.F. Sinclair takes her reader by the hand and is an able escort, providing insights to both joy and heartbreak.  The fractured soul is far more interesting than the whole.
Don’t hesitate to experience The Dom of My Dreams.  You will be glad you did.  David J. Seton is able to give Ms. Fordham precisely what she needs and wants.  Coincidently, I also received both what I need and what I want.  Well done!

REVIEW: M.J. Lance's Ligature Marks

She might as well be wearing a dress of the same material as the wallpaper, that girl in your office who hardly ever speaks, that girl who is never wooed, that girl who is passed over for promotion and attention, even though she is very good at her work.  No one ever notices her.
How does that shrinking violet spend her weekends?  Surely some nights are spent watching cult television programs—she seems to know a lot about Doctor Who.  But how else does she spend her time?  Probably with an apartment full of cats, but who really cares?  She’s boring and uninteresting, right?
That is the impression we first get of Sarah, the protagonist of M.J. Lance’s short story, Ligature Marks.  And I might have been one of the many who strolled by without ever taking any heed of Sarah, but for Mr. Lance’s well-told tale.
Mr. Lance’s writing is smoky and rich, and despite the story’s brevity, he manages to verbally saunter through it and take his time in the telling in a way that titillates Sarah, and titillated me, too.
We first meet Sarah as she waits for a midnight train on a bone-cold night, wearing a short skirt and tee, her plump bottom mottled with bruises.  The mousy secretary has spent her Friday at a Fetish Swinger’s Club, and after enjoying some consensual carnal revels, she is heading home for the night.  Oh, we never really know what goes on inside a quiet girl’s head, do we?
Sarah never counted on running into the Englishman, whose name we never learn, but whose nature is made perfectly clear.  The Englishman is the most engaging kind of sadist—the knowledgeable kind, with a firm, expert hand.  Sarah learns, and we learn, the difference between playtime in a recreational social club and the nerve crunching edge-play of the real deal.  Speaking from experience, I suspect Sarah will find playtime less satisfying in the future.
M.J. Lance artfully escorts us through Sarah’s short jaunt, and I found the read well worth the time.  For an atmospheric and entertaining staycay, check out Ligature Marks by M.J. Lance.  I recommend it!  Click here.

PS This is the start of a collection, and the author includes links to contact him.  Much like Sarah, this story might be the start of a special, intimate relationship for all.

REVIEW: C.L. Knight’s new ebook, Naughty Little Rich Girl

So, I woke up today, this gorgeous Sunday morning, and brewed a pot of coffee.  It was so nice outside, I walked down the driveway in my bare feet and jammies to get the paper.  (Yes, jammies—very erotic, right?  Can you stand it?)  It’s almost too beautiful outside now to be blogging, but I’m taking a moment before my jog to tell you all about a special treat I enjoyed this morning.
Once back indoors, I put the paper aside—too nice a day to read about the world’s woes—and picked up the new ebook by C.L. Knight, Naughty Little Rich Girl.  It’s a short story about a chauffer who drives for an old millionaire businessman and his young trophy wife.  His fifth wife.
I love the short story form—the M&Ms of literature.  Ms. Knight delivered on the implied contract of our author/reader relationship.  She delivered so well, in fact, that I crawled back into bed for a little solitary contemplation and internal review.  Yum—thanks Ms. Knight!  (Hey, yesterday was a Saturday night of HGTV and Ben & Jerry’s, so I’m entitled!)
Zach, the chauffer, is filled with contempt for Tiffany, the trophy wife, but he can’t stop obsessing over her.  It seems Tiffany isn’t even aware of Zach’s existence until they lock eyes in the limo’s rear view mirror while she’s wiping her chin.
I loved the voyeurism of the chauffer watching what’s going on in the back seat.  And when Zach tries to deal with his desire by hooking up with a blonde stranger in a bar, I identified with it.  I’ve been in that situation—the anonymous girl facing the wall with her shorts down and a stranger behind her—it was very real to me.
I’ve been in the situation that Zach and Tiffany later find themselves in, too, except my high heels wouldn’t have been digging into Zach’s back.  (Sorry, boys, Chastity likes to kick off her heels before kicking up her heels!)
So, for verisimilitude and raciness, I recommend this short traipse through C.L. Knight’s imagination.  I would have liked more description of Zach—I was left to do the “heavy lifting” during my solitary contemplation and internal review, but the fact that I was inspired to crawl back under the warm bedcovers is proof that C.L. Knight delivered.  Oh, and I want to rent a limo!
At the end of the story, Ms. Knight asks if we’d like to see more of Zach and Tiffany, and I, for one, offer up a hearty “Yes, please!”

REVIEW: Aislynn Archer’s new eBook, Party of Four

Talk about my lucky day!  Wednesday, as part of a Twitter promotion, I received a copy of Aislynn Archer’s new eBook, Party of Four.  Yay!  I hardly ever win ANYTHING!  How great is that?
So, I sat down after dinner and started reading the novella, figuring I would read a chapter or two, and then hit the elliptical before going to the pub for some drinks and, truth be told, some flirting.
Well, I never hit the elliptical, and I was late for the pub, but I still got in my flirting (hi guys <wink>).
I could not put this story down.
Truth be told, I was only expecting some slap-tickle-gobble fun, which I am always up for.  Aislynn Archer delivers the slap-tickle-gobble fun with panache.  Moreover to my great delight, Aislynn Archer’s Party of Four is comprised of far more than slap-tickle-gobble fun—this is a tale with psychological depth and emotional heft.
Ms. Archer’s background as a writer of romance pays huge dividends.  It is no mean feat to marry a BDSM story with a credible romance, but Ms. Archer pulls it off.
One would think the Party of Four conceit exists for some forced-bi action (yummy!) and some voluntary-bi action (also hot) and some vigorous tag-team efforts.  Sure, the situation lends itself to all that and more—as testament/confession, while reading my free hand did drift idly southward.  But Ms. Archer is too clever an author to be satisfied with only exploiting that opportunity.  Party of Four seizes the chance to contrast and explore two different dommes, and how their personas influence their playtime styles.  One is a gentle yet forceful coaxer, and one is a lover whose idiom is sadism.  For this exploration alone, the novella is worth the read.
But wait, there’s more!
There is an underlying mystery, of sorts, and a delving into the characters’ psyches.  Who’d have thought one could peer into a domme’s psyche by watching how she wields her whips?  Thankfully, Aislynn Archer did!
Aislynn teases one of her characters into a Joycean epiphany.  Find that in your run-of-the-mill BDSM erotic tale.  I dare ya!  I double dare ya!
I did, however, occasionally get lost and confused during some of the naked gymnastics, but that might be more a reflection on me than Ms. Archer.
Aislynn Archer’s new eBook, Party of Four, is a racy read with depth, and that experience is well worth the price of admission.
And I’m sure the guys at the pub Wednesday night appreciate the electric edge Aislynn Archer gave to my flirting!
I’ll be back soon, guys! <wink> <wink>
